Kym Mellsop discovered Salida in 1994 after graduating from Smith College in Massachusetts. A self-professed city girl from the SF Bay Area, she fell in love with Salida’s mountains, river, and slower pace of life. Kym has been with Pinon since its inception in 2005 and prides herself on truly listening to her clients’ needs and working hard and creatively to meet their goals.

When not working in real estate, Kym volunteers with Heart of the Rockies Hospice (since 2015) and serves on the Board of the Salida Insight Meditation Community. Kym is also curator of the Pinon office gallery which has three shows per year. She enjoys hiking, taking walks with friends, cross country skiing, as well as going to gym and pilates classes.

Kym believes that between all the outdoor recreation, strong schools and sense of community, Salida was the ideal place to raise her two daughters, Sophia and Beatrice, who have now flown the nest!

Hayden was born in New Zealand, and first came to the Salida area in 1990. He met Kym in Salida in 1994, and they married and have called this area home since 1996.

Hayden has been with Pinon Real Estate Group since 2006, and has guided fly fishermen extensively in both New Zealand and Colorado for over twenty years. He writes for local Mountain Mail newspaper and for High Country Angler magazine.

As well as fly fishing, Hayden’s other interests include helping raise his two daughters, snowboarding and mountain biking. He has a strong conservation ethic, and is a current board member, and past president of the Central Colorado Conservancy, and member of Trout Unlimited. He also serves on the board of directors for the Realtors of Central Colorado, where he is a past board chair and Realtor of the Year in 2016.

The upper Arkansas River Valley is a great place for parents to raise their kids, outdoors enthusiasts to come and recreate, retirees to enjoy their golden years and investors to reap the benefits of investing in a sound real estate market. Hayden believes in utilizing his local knowledge and exceptional inter-personal skills to help people of all walks of life realize their dreams.
